Online registration worst day of Peachtree 10K Road Race

I've tried three times, including leaving my CREDIT CARD information on the Peachtree 10K online registration site, only to have it fail each time.

I can only imagine this is happening to everyone trying right now and if so, it's safe to say this is the worst day in the history of the Peachtree 10K Road Race, on par with the infamous mass participant complaints of the T-shirt designs that led to the creation of the T-shirt contest.

Here's an idea, Peachtree:

1). Create adequate server space to anticipate demand.
2). Test the registration process with Atlanta Track Club participants who get to register earlier than the mass registration.
3). Do not set the registration day on a day of a major road race.
4). Create a virtual queue for people to wait in if they cannot get in online.
5). Immediately post on the Web site if the system is broken down and no one can register.
6). Allow people a second date to register.
7). Send race registration invitations directly to participants who have run the race in years' past, especially those who have qualified for time groups.

Progress? I entered and app online that did not throw an error, but is endlessly churning. I take this as a sign of major progress for the pathetic sign up application... never minde, IE just timed out...

It took us 40 minutes and MANY tries to get our son's registration to go through while my husband tried on his computer to get his to go through. Then an additional 50 minutes of us both trying before my husband's registration went through.

This showed total lack of preparation - they should have anticipated the volume and thoroughly tested the registration process!

Hope your registration finally got through!

I agree. This is awful. I've tried at least 10 times since 7am.
